T-shirt, Sweater, shorts,Leather Jacket - H&M shoes - ZARA Neckpiece - NEW YORKER

I first saw these Chanel-esque shorts on my friend Bekki's blog. That was last year, I have been on the look out  for them ever since and finally they hit German H&M's... so weird it took that long! Still, glad I finally got my hands on a pair. The sweater was a steal, got it for 10 euro interesting how well they go together. The jacket must have been the last of the 'dragon tattoo' collection, which I wasn't too crazy over or planning to get anything from until I tried this on. Might I add, it's quite heavy and am excited to wear it now - well, when it gets warmer and in the spring. 

...and with those few remarks, January officially comes to an end...

Step from the road, to the sea, to the sky

The past 2 days have been warm and sunny, so it was a huge surprise when we woke up this morning and everything outside was covered in a thick white blanket.

This is my front yard, or garden. It's quite beautiful in the summer and I have spent many afternoons lying on the hammock, waiting for my roommates because I forgot my keys in the house.

I've always liked the denim on denim look, never thought it was for me. So this outcome, for me was a good surprise. Not too shabby ay? Although, I did use jeggings instead of jeans - which I am not a huge fan of. 

The boots are wedged. Not a fan of UGGS and or flat winter boots so these are my 'go to' snow boots. Hopefully this post inspires you to stop admiring a trend - whatever it may be - from afar, and actually try it out.

My sister and I ran around Johannesburg looking for these shirts which were popular and cheap(In S.A.) two years ago, finally managed to get them at the Ama kip kip store at the airport (crazily overpriced) and have been dying to wear it ever since. Necessity begets creativity...I threw the t shirt over the checked top and it did not look completely crazy so I kept it on. 

It was snowing when I woke up and I realised in winter Hamburg is so beautiful and that much brighter with snow on branches and on the ground. The rain washed it all away and we are back to darkness and people with gloomy faces and dark clothes.

....I am not part of the ordinary....

New and Good Collection inspired by Cirque du Soleil

It was presented on 4th of July in Barcelona, Spain for Summer 2012 and can be purchased HERE The collection has been on sale on all Desigual shops and online since December 2011.

What I like most about this is the neutral colors, the black and white, the beige, the earthtones (and there were blues as well). The simplicity of the outfit the subtle details that make the outfits that much more chic, the incorporation of fur (which I am a sucker for as per my previous post) among others.

It has 'power-frau' written all over it. I love it when a designer can make a collection that is so lady like, chic and simple.

I learned a few years ago that you should NOT just buy clothes because they are on sale. There are countless times I bought items on sale only to find they didn't really fit in my closet or that I wasn't that crazy about them and they ended up at the back of my closet. Nowadays I check the relevancy, and only buy items I am sure to use more than twice. I can't begin to explain my excitement when I walked into Zara and found this knit, very 20's style (Low waist) button down dress. It's the second of the 20's style dresses that I have. It being all black makes it the perfect canvas for different styling. Very excited to work with it.

Also, I found this bib at bijou brigitte... so pretty, I had to buy it... am still on the look out for the perfect collar. The search continues...

The Faux fur coat, I got 2 years ago as a gift because I am always freezing and layering is not quite my forté. It is the perfect thing because I don't need to layer. Throw it on and I can walk around in the cold for at least 45 minutes without freezing (as I did on new years ). Plus it just changes the whole feel of the outfit, and believe it or not people treat you with more respect/you get more favors when wearing faux fur. At least it happens for me. Looking at the pictures though I can tell why....can you?

Say hello to my new camera....

Nigel - Is my new camera. He is a Nikon coolpix P500 and we have been having a serious love affair ever since I brought him home from Saturn (Electronics store in Hamburg).

I have to admit, I went out camera shopping with the intention of getting a better canon, after all, my last canon had been so good, I thought why not just get an upgrade. So I looked around on the internet and saw this Canon EOS1100D that I thought was the one, then tried it out and realised it's too complicated for me.

Then I started playing with the Nikon's and I was on this model for almost 30 minutes, but I must say, after the first two pictures I took, I knew I was bringing home a Nikon. So there you have it. I have a feeling we are going to be together for a loooong time.

(who know what these shoes I have on are called? I bought them at Zara, they're patent leather, have a wing tipped brogues feel at the front but designed like suede slippers)

Remember that one time when someone sent out a picture of her sitted at the front row of some fashion show and she had this HUGE head piece? and eeeeevryone was commenting on the picture talking about how inconsiderate she was blah blah. (just to clear it all up: she was 11 or 12 at the time which means she was tiny and that headband didn't really BLOCK anyones view)

Anyway, point of this short story, imagine me, sitted infront of you (anywhere) wearing this headband....LOL. So hard to miss just like a streak of lighning across the midnight sky.

Everyone who sees it, goes WTF?! and I guess that's the reason I got it. It's hella fun!

Sidenote: I took these pictures with my new camera, the lighting was completely poor, but the pictures came out so good am so impressed. I can't wait to go out and take decent pictures in natural light!

If there is a designer Duo out there that I can't get enough of, it has to be Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the geniuses behind Proenza Schouler.

What is there not to love about a collection that is so simple yet so chic and elegant! The subtle details....

I am not too hot for the shoes though, but then again I have never been too hot for a wedged heel. (My opinion)
