Another pointless commentary

Oh yes am independent, and I know I got it!!
- TOXIC

She struts on to the stage in a white romper and leopard print heels to die for, head held up high, 'Wakenya Muko wapi?' she calls out and suddenly she has captured the attention of not only the Kenyans but the whole club full of multi cultured revellers. She confidently belts out tune after tune, only pausing to dance , interacting with her fans, inviting them onstage and 'dropping it down low' with them. She looks like she is having the time of her life, and you can't help but enjoy it with her.
A few songs later, the show is over, like a tease, leaves her crowd wanting more. Her fans, new and old a like come trickling by asking for a picture or three and some bold ones for her phone number... She smiles politely engaging her fans while politely declining the obviously over ambitious requests.
She's a born performer, and manages to positively surprise most people who think otherwise...

(I finally debuted the Versace for H&M choker... I <3 it, statement necklace and a half!)

Backstage Pass // Marni Spring 2012

When I heard Marni was doing a collaboration with H&M for the spring, it was exciting to me for the 'african Print' factor. Truth is, I haven't really paid much attention to this fashion house so I am not well versed in their visions or creations.

As I was going through my daily blog reads, I stumbled upon this article by Marian Kihogo. This made me a tad more excited about the collaboration and Marni as a fashion house in general. I am really curious to see their collection.

Here are the photo's and article by Marian Kihogo.

It is only when we go backstage that we see the stories behind the collections, for what they truly are.
Consuelo Castiglioni is the queen of balance. Her knack for making the trickiest design look effortless is second to none.
Clean lines balance out graphic optical prints and structure keeps brights in check.
60′s zany floral prints, fluorescent hues and chunky architectural accessories should not draw one in. In other hands they would make the case for the meeting place of bad taste. In Consuelo’s hands they create that light switching on, aha moment.
Here, balance clearly holds court, come spring and Consuelo reigns. Long live Marni.
